You do not have to sign the application by hand – a free trusted profile is used to sign electronic documents.

In order to use ePUAP services and sign electronic documents, you must confirm your identity on the Internet – the office must know who you are.
You can confirm your identity on the Internet in two ways:

then visit: epuap.gov.pl then click on register.
Complete the short-form
If you provide PESEL in it – you will automatically apply for a trusted profile that you must confirm.

How long does the process take?

It depends on how you confirm the trusted profile (profil zaufany) that is needed to use ePUAP.
As stated above set up the account on the ePUAP platform immediately. However, you can create a trusted profile (profil zaufany) and:

immediately confirm via the Internet, for example, use electronic banking – then you can start settling matters online immediately,
confirm later – within 14 days in the selected place (confirmation point) – then you will start using ePUAP services only AFTER CONFIRMING THE PROFILE.

Civil Registry Office – obtain copies of marriage, birth, death or other documents; report the birth of a child,
ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) – check if your employer has insured you and what kind of pension you will get; review your sick leaves and contributions,
NFZ (National Health Fund) – collect the EHIC card (European Health Insurance Card) before going abroad,
Tax Office (tax offices) – check your tax settlements; report an inheritance or donation,
KRK (National Criminal Register) – download a certificate of good conduct,
UP (employment offices) – register as an unemployed person and take advantage of training,
PESEL register and ID card register – check your data and documents,
